On April 20, 1534, Jacques Cartier set sail from St. Malo in Brittany with two ships and 61 men. Instead of finding the rich spice lands of the Orient, he found Canada (anti-climatic). We are not out to find a new world, but to reestablish the social avenue that drove our fore fathers to become barkeeps, A Great Bar: where one can get a great cocktail or a great beer, great service, and have a great night without the mustachioed, tie and vest attitude that has become the norm.
Our rules are simple.
- You must enjoy yourself here.
- Do not take yourself too seriously.
- Do not sit quietly at the bar. You must engage in conversation.
- We drink to be merry not to be boring.
- If a beautiful woman/man is by themselves, you must attempt conversation and attempt courtship
- When an awesome power ballad is playing you must sing along
- Never pass up a free shot from a staff member
- Finally, bad decisions are celebrated here not condemned. . .No judging.
